turning this mother out.

my guess is that Surf Girls will be a lot like this, except with more money shotsHappy Day after Mother's Day, my peeps and peepettes. We had a pleasant holiday yesterday here at our new blog cave. The Chosen One and Lil' Buddy performed an interpretive dance based on their favorite foods (Cheese and breast milk) for their mother and I vacuumed the entire blog cave in her honor. Needless to say, fun was had by all.

Not that it all went by without any controversy. As per usual, the days leading up to Mother's Day were full of strife and conflict. I went into my annual Pre-Mother's Day sulk and refused to smile or make a funny around the blog cave. I'm sure I don't to have to tell you that when I'm not smiling or making a funny around the blog cave, the blog cave is a pretty grim place to be. I wish I didn't have to fall into such a funk, but it's the only way I know how to let My Lady understand that every day is "Mother's Day" and it's overdoing it to have an official day dedicated to mothers. You know I'm right. I've never been so right about something. Well, I was pretty damn right when I said that Jenna would win Survivor: Amazon and that Jayson Blair was a hack, too. Oh, and of course I predicted that Jay Garner's days in Iraq were numbered and that Funny Cide's jockey was pulling some serious funny business. I've known all that stuff because, you see, I'm a seer. But that's another blog entry for another blog day.

What made this Mother's Day particularly bothersome is that it totally put the kibosh on my countdown to Surf Girls celebration. Surf Girls is the new MTV reality series that combines the best stuff from all the other MTV reality shows and puts it in a bikini and on a surf board. Like you don't know what Surf Girls is. Silly me--only the whole world is buzzing about it. Anyway, I can't wait for it. But because of "Mother's Day" I had to take time away from getting psyched and stoked and excited about the show and devote time instead to My Lady. Does it matter that I devote the other 374 days of the year to My Lady? Why can't I have just one day to look forward to what promises to be the best MTV reality show about surf girls ever? Wait. How many days in a year again? Suck. I always mess that up. 385? No matter: you get my point. Right?

In the end I, of course, handled the official "Mother's Day" like a true gentleman. Like I said I vacuumed the entire blog cave and helped stage The Chosen One's and Lil' Buddy's interpretive dance. They made many mistakes and, quite frankly, I've seen other two year-old and one month-old dance duos perform much better interpretive dance routines, but I can't be blamed for that. There was only so much I could do. I was there for the rehearsals and I chose which Night Ranger songs to use for the performance. The fact they couldn't turn on their star-shine come show time was not my fault. Really.

In the end, though, My Lady had a fine day, and that's what's most important. I guess. Now that the official "Mother's Day" is over I can refocus my time and energy towards prepping for Surf Girls and organizing my list for Father's Day gifts. About frickin' time.
