introducing the blogvent calendar.

click on image to get a blog advent calendar treat.Ah, yes, holiday time is upon us. I love holidays. Can't get enough of them. I love their traditions and festiveness. Christmas is a particular favorite as it typically comes with lots of material goods. I love material goods. Can't get enough of them. So these last few weeks leading up to Christmas are especially difficult as it's hard for me to focus on pretty much anything because my mind is constantly thinking about all the wicked awesome gifts My Lady and Santa will give me.

Ever since I was a wee C I've been something of a wreck in the days before Christmas. One thing that always helped temper my excitement was an advent calendar. (For our non-Christian friends: advent calendars are charts that help us mark the days until December 25th. I don't know why they're called "advent" calendars. My guess is that it was something to do with Jesus, but I'm not really sure. And really, who cares anyway? You're non-Christians, and I'm more focused on the material goods-getting aspect of the holiday.) It was great waking up every morning and opening a box from the advent calendar. It was not only a neat and festive way to start each day, but it was a tangible way of charting how many days until Christmas remained.

So in an effort to spread more holiday cheer throughout the blogosphere (and at the same time to help temper my wiggedy wacked anticipation of the big holiday), I have created a blog advent calendar (or "blogvent calendar") to help mark the days until December 25. Well, it's not a calendar per say, but each day my blog will have a picture that when clicked on will reveal a festive image of some sort. Go ahead and try it on today's picture (the Xmas tree in the top right hand corner).

See? That was fun and festive, right? Man I love this time of year. Presents! Loads and loads of material goods packed presents! Be sure to click on the featured picture each day. It will be located at the bottom right corner of every entry. Merry Christmas! And for my non-Christian friends, Happy Tuesday!

Comments.

What a neat idea. I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but I sure do wish something else was revealed when I clicked on your Christmas tree.

That is so not supposed to sound sexy.

That's interesting, my advent calendar dispenses chocolate and not spam. I guess things are different up where you reside.

Say, what was the final wordcount to IKPTSTONV1, anyway?

Mmmm...Spam. Nothing says merry fuckin' christmas like spam...except a swiss colony beef log. I fuckin' love that stuff!

Thanks for the laugh.

I am,

Hiya Kat:
I don't think you can handle my Xmas tree. It's full of lights and sticky needles. ( That wasn't supoosed to sound sexual, either.)

Hiya Merdog:
Get a room.

Hiya elisa:
The final word count was around 7,342. But the word count doesn't matter; what mattersa is that I touched many people with its spirit. I think.

Hiya G-Man:
Swiss Colony Beef logs are overrated. But whatever.
