One Vote for the Flip-Flopping War Hero.

mercy.I'm voting for Kerry. That should come as no surprise. I've never voted Republican and chances are I never will, and if that makes me close-minded and partisan then so be it. I can live with myself. I like me how I am just fine. Especially in the snowsuit I'm wearing today. It's one killer snowsuit, too. No, it's not snowing. It's actually kind of balmy outside. Still, I just felt like wearing a snowsuit today, so I am. That's why I love this country so much: if somebody wakes up and wants to wear a snowsuit they can, no matter what the weather outside is like.

As Democrats go, John Kerry isn't exactly my favorite. I guess that makes me one of those voters whose voting more against Bush than for Kerry. I've heard Republicans scoff and moan about people like me, but then in my eyes making a Republican scoff and moan is a good thing. If you ask me, they don't scoff and moan enough. They're always acting so aloof and self-righteous with their boring suits ties and unsettling hairstyles.

Charley Reese by all accounts is another one of those aloof and self-righteous Republicans. Not sure what kind of ties he wears, or how he cuts his hair, but my assumption is it ain't pretty. Reese has been a conservative columnist for nearly 50 years. He's pro-life/anti-tax/anti-multiculturalism right-winger who voted for Bush in the last election.

But surprises of surprises, Mr Reese is not voting for Bush next Tuesday. Here's just a taste of his reason why:

"Americans should realize that if they vote for President Bush's re-election, they are really voting for the architects of war-Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz and the rest of that cabal of neoconservative ideologues and their corporate backers. I have sadly come to the conclusion that President Bush is merely a front man, an empty suit, who is manipulated by the people in his administration. Bush has the most dangerously simplistic view of the world of any president in my memory."

I haven't heard about one single lefty that's made a case for voting for Bush. Maybe that means conservatives are more open-minded and less rigid than liberals. I don't know. If they are, then more power to them. But my guess is that that's not the case. I think rather it's more the fact that people (liberals and conservatives alike) are sick and tired of what the Bush administration has been feeding them about the war ands the economy and every other major issue confronting our country.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a President who speaks in complete sentences, and who has the ability to process a complex issue without having to break it down into an "us versus them" scenario? Yes, Kerry can be a windbag, and he isn't exactly the master of the sound byte, but at least he has a mind of his own and obeys the rules of standard English. I used to think that Reagan was the biggest tool I've ever seen, but W has topped him. Next to Bush, Reagan comes off as articulate and sophisticated. Yes, that's right: George Bush makes Ronald Reagan look articulate and sophisticated!

Anyway, I should stop. My motivation is not to sway your vote. I just needed to vent. For the life of me, I can't understand why anybody would vote for Bush. People are being duped. They're being duped like they've never been duped before. It's kind of scary, actually.

That's why I've retreated into the warm, comfy confines of my snowsuit. It's my safe and happy place. Plus it makes me look real fierce--no matter what my neighbor's mean teenage sons say about it. What do they know anyway? There's a Bush/Cheney sign on their lawn.

This post is dedicated to protecting us from terrorists and to another less than shocking endorsement.

Comments.

you're too nice. geedub supporters aren't being duped as much as they're being stupid.

I wonder why people in the US of A still give opinion about politic. It just make the other side angry and confirm their vote. In Québec, we are more or less lefty. More then less, so no wonder if i wish you a kerry rather then a dubya. But hey! i will keep reading you event if you dont. Is you snowsuit one or two pieces?

Hiya ognatius:
Yes, some are just plain stupid, but many others have been scared into for voting for Bush thanks to all the Rove "Kerry will surrender to the terrorists" propaganda.

Hiya Nick:
One piece. I like the feel of one piece clothing against my body. That's why I dig bear suits too.
