Chillin' at the Children's Museum.

this drawing doesn't have much to do with the today's post but still i like it.Lil' Buddy and I went to the Children's Museum yesterday. Typically I avoid the Children's Museum during the winter months as it's usually loaded with kids and parents trying to relieve their cabin fever. There's nothing worse than a jam packed Children's Museum; there's no room to do much of anything, especially if you're as little as Lil' Buddy, and it's a breeding ground for the rhinovirus. But after hearing about this terrorist threat for Boston, I figured it was the day to go as most people would stay home to be on the safe side. (Bawk-bawk.)

Thankfully, I was right: the place was nearly vacant and we had a delightful time. There was a slight altercation in the Raceway Room, as a group of Hassidic children on a field trip took it upon themselves to horde every single ball in the place. Eventually one boy realized the error in their ways and kindly offered a ball to Lil' Buddy who ceremoniously threw it back at the boy, hitting him on the shin.

But other than that tense-but-brief episode, Lil' Buddy was a walking poster boy for being happy at the Children's Museum. He played with the bubble makers in the Bubble Room; the air funnels in the Airplay room; and he climbed up, down and all around the Playspace maze. I did my best to match his glee, as it's always great seeing him so happy, but I must admit to being disappointed that the museum was light on hot nannies, particularly in the Toddler Playspace Room which is usually THE place in Boston to gaze upon hot nannies. All that was there today were two older, overweight Nannies and a Mannie who refuse to take off his wool hat. Not sure who he was trying to impress. Anyway, nope, there was nothing to see there.

But in the end we killed a good two hours and Lil' Buddy was suitably tuckered out for his nap, where he slept for nearly four hours, allowing me to get some important things done, like watching my TiVoed episodes of American Idol 4 (that show is slowly killing every poor, pathetic nerd in our country) and playing on my XBOX. So all in all it was a pretty strong day, no matter how cheap and useless I felt after watching television and playing on my XBOX for four hours.
