Best of All, Nobody Died.

I'm happy to report that the reading was a success. People laughed at the all the right places, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Best of all, nobody died. I was worried someone would. The power of my public speaking skills has a tendency to do that. A part of me thinks I should harness this power and use it for good. But another part of me says, "Meh." I mean, I kind of like the idea of people cowering at the sound of my voice. Makes me feel like a god or something. Now if only I could turn invisible or fly. That would be sweet. Being a god must be awesome.

The only bad thing about the evening was that I forgot my camera so I can't offer a photographic recap. This breaks your heart, I know, but somehow I think you'll pull through and survive. To make it up to you I instead offer this photo of a polar bear devouring a seal. I think it achieves the same desired effect.
thanks for coming out! i'll be in the back signing intestines.
Thanks to Peter Bebergal, Dennis DiClaudio, and Rose Gowen for participating in the event. They were fantastic and all of you who missed their readings are losers. Thanks also to the Plough and Stars for being a great host.

That's it. I'm wiped. Reading stories in a bar takes a lot of a high-end fair-to-middling blogger. See you tomorrow.

Be a goddess is hard, but being a princess is tough too. Not for me of course, but on those around me. Too bad for them.

I think it's nice that the polar bear is sharing his seal with the gulls. In fact, if that were a film of the polar bear, instead of a still picture, I think you could hear the bear saying, "Gulls, please, come and share in my bounty. There's plenty here for everybody!" Well, I guess you'd have to know polar bear language to understand that.

..and there were way more than 8.72 people at the Plough and Stars. I think it was like 11.83.

I guess I'm kind of glad I wasn't able to make it. I was unaware of your powers! With my luck,I would of died for sure.

Oh, you had a reading? Well, color me blonde and corn fed!

I imagine that seal must have read 'Yo Mama' out loud to the bear. I told you to be careful with that thing.

Yucky! I wonder what the seal was saying, right before being devoured... poor baby seal... *sniff*

Glad your reading went well - no surprise though! You mean you're not a God? Cause I thought you were a God? I was telling all my friends what a God of the Blogs you were. I guess I have some phone calls to make. *sigh*
