On the radio yesterday I heard a DJ introduce the song "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley as the band's "hot new tune." This drove me crazy (pun sort of intended, but not really because the other adjective choices, like "batty" or "insane" don't work nearly as well and instead would make me come off as a showy dork which at times I admit to being, but in this case I don't want my occasional showy dorkiness to distract from the point I'm trying to make, and while am at it, for the record, as far as showy dorks go, I'm like the best-looking and best-dressed of all-time, alright, maybe that's stretch, regardless, I'm at the very least in the top 25th percentile, so step off) because the song has been out since the winter and his been played to death to the point that Gnarls Barkley themselves are sick of it. Plus the song has been covered, like 78 times over from everybody to Ray LaMontagne to the Bay City Rollers. Okay, I have no idea if the Bay City Rollers have covered the song. I don't even know if they still perform of if all of their original band members are alive. However, I do know that when I was six my babysitter took me to see the Bay City Rollers arrive at Logan Airport and it was one of the scariest and most thrilling days of my life. Anyway, "Crazy" has been out for months and covered to death yet the DJ said it a "hot new tune." How fricking lame is that? Very fricking lame.

So with that said I offer the 79th cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy".
