Saw "Surf's Up" this weekend. I'm happy to report that Zooey Deschanel is just as hott as a penguin as she as a human being. That's not to say I am into penguins or anything. But if I was a penguin I would totally want to date her as a penguin, you know, if I wasn't already married and had kids and everything. Penguins are pretty monogamous. Gotta respect that.

Also saw "Knocked Up" this weekend. Zooey Deschanel wasn't in it, but that was all right. Neither were any penguins; there really wasn't any need for them in the movie. That would have just made things weird. I mean, if Katherine Heigl was walking around all preggers and then some penguin came out of nowhere and did a silly dance number? No that wouldn't have worked at all. Actually, come to think of it, maybe it would have. Regardless, I liked the movie a lot. It was funny and sweet. Even without penguins.

Saw "Deliver Us From Evil" this weekend, as well. Was a rental from NetFlix. It's a documentary about a priest who molested children in California. Pretty heavy and disturbing stuff. The film could have used one or two penguins to lighten things up. They wouldn't have had to sing or dance (because that would have been inappropriate given the subject matter), they could have simply waddled on the screen from time to time. Just their presence alone would have given the audience a break from all the pain and grief. Penguins are good like that.
