Utter Wonder is 5.

yay me
I had planned to do more for the big day today, but with everything that was on television last night I couldn't find the time. My life is very, very busy. Besides, I know you'll pick up the slack by offering dozens upon dozens of tributes thanking me for touching your souls for the last 1,825 days. So stop wasting time and start tributizing me already.

This post is dedicated to me.

I've never written a fan letter before, okay once when I was 12 to David Cassidy. Anyway here it goes:
Dear C Monks,
Your blog is great. Thanks for the last 5 years.
Your fan,
Patti

Great! Now this blog is old enough to go to school, and stop bothering me all day. Thank God. Now I can finally catch up on my stories.

...and still wetting the bed. You're old enough now to know when you need to go to the potty at night, so stop it.

Well played, YouDub, here's to five more! But only if you're not too busy...

It seems more like a 5-year anniversary than a fifth birthday. On your fifth birthday you get to wear a party hat, you get lots of cool presents, and you can eat gigantic slices of cake without worrying about trans-fats and triglycerides and crap. On your fifth anniversary you get less sex.

I've had some good times here over the years. Yay, you!

oh, it's a bittersweet time for me, for as beautiful as utter wonder is at five, i know that i'll never have four again. he's not just growing up, he's growing away from us, and i for one want to thank chris monks for the excellent work he has done, and wish him nothing but the best in his future projects.

stay gold, chris monks, stay gold!
