The first thing that your spirit-guide-Griffin ( they are not pets and you are showing that you know not a thing about Griffins by characterizing them that way), is that you should never, ever, let somebody change lanes in front of you during a traffic jam. A Griffin would never do that. Ever.

Remember, when you’re griffin shopping, please stop by your local humane society. Chances are, they have several unwanted griffins that are looking for a good home. Well, they’re not exactly “looking” since they usually fly around while they’re looking for stuff.

The Human Society of the United States reminds you to ask yourself these questions when choosing a griffin:

•Why do you want a pet griffin? Remember, pet griffins typically live about 300 years. Can you make that commitment? Can your survivors?
•Do you have time for a pet griffin? Griffins require food, water and exercise. Do you have time to fly your griffin every morning?
•Can you afford a pet griffin? The costs of pet ownership can be quite high. Griffin licenses typically cost $450 per year, much higher than dog licenses.
•Are you prepared to deal with special problems that a pet griffin can cause? Housetraining a griffin isn’t easy. Trust us on this.
•Can you have a pet griffin where you live? Many rental communities don't allow pet griffins, and most of the rest have restrictions. Make sure you know what they are before you bring a pet griffin home.
•Is it a good time for you to adopt a pet griffin? If you have kids under three years old, for instance, you might consider waiting a few years before you adopt a griffin. Small children comprise a large percentage of a griffin’s diet.
•Are your living arrangements suitable for the griffin you have in mind? Griffin size is not the only variable to think about here. You must also consider wingspan, personality, etc. Make sure you choose a griffin that’s compatible with your lifestyle and your living arrangements.
•Do you know who will care for your griffin while you're away on vacation? You'll need either reliable friends and neighbors or money to pay for a boarding kennel or griffin-sitting/flying service.
•Will you be a responsible griffin owner? Can you obey griffin spaying/neutering requirements and griffin leash laws?
