Yet Another Feather In UW's Cap.

So as it turns out writing about not being on the local news is a great way of getting on the website of your local newspaper. As you see above, yesterday's post about me not being interviewed about the weather or Jessica Simpson's weight gain by a television news reporter was linked to by the online version of the Boston Globe. As a result, way more than 8.72 people happened by Utter Wonder yesterday, which makes this blog's popularity more fair-to-middling than it's been in quite some time.

It's pretty exciting.

I mean, think about all the things that had to happen for me to be linked by the Boston Globe: I had to write a blog for over six years; it had to be unseasonably warm yesterday; the Channel 5 news team had to be driving through my hometown, looking for people to interview about the unseasonably warm weather; my neighbors had to be outside my house playing street hockey and within sight of said news team; I had to bored enough to look out my window and notice my neighbor being interviewed by the news team; I had to turn away my sons who wanted me to be their "dad" and play games with them and whatever else it is that "dads" do, and instead devote my regular nine hours a day to writing a blog post; I had to be incredibly handsome; I had to be stricken with a blaze of jealousy that ached me to my core upon seeing my neighbors being interviewed by the news team; I had to forget that I had actually meant to blog about Stevie Wonder playing with the Jonas Brothers at the Grammy Awards; I had to have a computer to write my blog on; I had to have married a woman with enough money to allow me to have a computer to write my blog on and to be unemployed for a long stretch of time, which allowed me lots of opportunity to play video games and work on my blog; I had to be really, really good-looking; Archduke Ferdinand had to be assassinated; Lincoln had to save the Union; the Pilgrims had to come to America; and human beings had to descend from apes.

So you see, the stars really had to align for me to get on the front page of Boston.com. I'm just glad they did. Stars, you're all right in my book! Way better than planets and asteroids and comets and the Jonas Brothers. For sure!

Wow C. All this publicity must mean you're movin' on up. Just like George and Wheezy.

It's nice to see fame hasn't gone to your incredibly good-looking head.

I don't know from these Jonas Brothers, but Paul Simon said I could call you Al.
