I'll be a judge in the Boston debut of Opium Magazine's Literary Death Match this Thursday night at the Paradise Lounge. Not that any of you have ever bothered to attend any of my other appearances, but I just thought I'd mention it anyway. Steve Almond, Jeannie Greeley, William Giraldi and Jane Roper will be the contestants. Eve Bridburg and Tom Perrotta will be co-judging with me. I'm a little nervous about it, as I don't have much experience judging stuff. The last thing I judged was your shirt – which by the way still sucks – but I will do my best. I have my robe and wig picked out. Now all I need is a mallet and my own bailiff. I read somewhere that a judge isn't really a judge until they have their personal bailiff. So if you know of any, let me know. Thanks.
